He has significant experience in all structural design, site supervision and structural assessment and in the selection, recommendation and design of remedial works, testing & commissioning of plant in cement plants, hydration lime-kiln plant, calcium carbonate (dry & precipitated) factories, calcium-silicate brick factory, quarry crushing & screening plant, vertical roller mill & ball mill plant, galvanizing plant, kernel crushing plant cum power-generating plant, electronic factory, food-processing factory, electronic & electrical manufacturing plant and etc.

Ir. Chan has also been extensively involved in the preparation of contract documents, specifications and risk registers in accordance with Malaysia safety and health regulations.

Over the last eight years, Ir. Chan has become increasingly involved in business development. Specific works on design and build tender for government and private projects has provided him with experience in project negotiation and the tender procedures.

Chan has also been involved in some on-shore structural assessment for ship loader, offshore and jetty structure in Pulau Langkawi–Lafarge Cement.  The assessment report concluded with maintenance and repair work for the existing structure. He is comfortable working overseas and, in particular, is familiar with the culture and languages of Southeast Asia.
